Vocational Training & Career Support

for underprivileged young people

Our programme empowers young people across Nepal through practical training and hope.

what we do

empowering young people

With Nepal’s rapid urbanisation and natural disasters, the demand for skilled workers in trades like electrical work, plumbing, welding, and carpentry has never been greater.

Yet, opportunities to learn these trades remain limited. Every day, around 1,500 young Nepalis leave the country seeking training and work…only to face harsh exploitation, dangerous conditions, and abuse abroad.

building skills and confidence

We’re helping underprivileged young people build brighter futures at home.

Through career counselling and hands-on training, we prepare students for secure, well-paying careers that promote economic independence and self-respect.

By empowering young Nepalis with practical skills, we reduce the need for risky migration and strengthen local communities.

transforms lives and communities

Each year, NYF awards around 400 vocational training scholarships in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and steel fabrication.

The programme helps identify the right trade for each student, covers training and accommodation costs, and supports graduates in finding employment.

For many, this opportunity marks the start of a sustainable livelihood — transforming not just one life, but entire families and communities.

a short film | a powerful story

In just 2 minutes, Wrapt Films brings to life how your generosity helps young Nepalis gain the skills and confidence to shape their own futures.

how we make a difference

Krishna’s Story

When Krishna B.K. was just nine his father’s death left his mother struggling to care for four children in a remote Nepali village. School seemed like an impossible dream but NYF’s Village School Scholarship Program gave him the opportunity to study.

Despite his determination, the hardship of his early years made it difficult for Krishna to complete his academic studies.

But NYF supported him through our Vocational Education Programme, sponsoring his training at the Balaju School of Engineering and Technology. There, Krishna discovered his passion — and talent — for electrical work.

Today, at just 24, Krishna runs his own business, earning more than twice the national average income. From a child facing poverty to a confident young entrepreneur, Krishna’s journey shows how opportunity and education can transform a life.
